  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar or Lemon Juice Bottled or freshly squeezed juice works.
  • 4-8 cups Granulated Sugar Adjust based on your sweetness preference.
  • 1 package Pectin Traditional pectin or no-sugar alternative.
For the Seedless Version (Optional)
  • 1 Strainer To remove seeds.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Wash blackberries under cool water; if using frozen berries, thaw them completely.
  2. Combine blackberries in a large pot over medium-low heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, mashing occasionally.
  3. Stir in apple cider vinegar or lemon juice and continue mashing. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes syrupy.
  5. Strain the mixture if you prefer a seedless jam.
  6. Measure out blackberry juice and gradually add sugar, stirring constantly until dissolved.
  7. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil and add pectin, stirring continuously for one minute.
  8. Check the consistency by spooning onto a cold plate; if ready, proceed to jar.
  9. Ladle jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace, and seal tightly.
  10. Process jars in boiling water bath for 10 minutes or cool completely for freezer storage.
