- Slice the vanilla bean in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds into a small pot with the bean.
- Pour 1 cup of water into the pot with the vanilla bean and seeds, bring to a boil, then remove from heat and add black tea.
- Remove the tea bag or strain the tea leaves and vanilla pods to leave only the aromatic tea base.
- Stir in the sugar while the tea is warm, adjusting to taste.
- Heat 1/4 cup of milk in a saucepan, frothing it until light and airy.
- Pour the frothed milk over the steeped tea, swirl to combine, and serve immediately.
