Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Line every other muffin well with paper liners or lightly grease each well.
- Melt the salted butter over medium heat until foamy and browned, about 5–7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooled brown butter, sugar, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Let the batter rest for at least 15 minutes.
- Fill each muffin well with 6–8 tablespoons of batter.
- Bake at 425°F for 7 minutes, then reduce to 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 12–15 minutes.
- Cool the muffins in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
