Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cake flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream cold butter with brown and granulated sugars until light and fluffy. Add one cold egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter-sugar blend, mixing until just combined. Fold in chopped walnuts if desired.
  5. Fold in chopped chocolate bar and chocolate chips into the dough for even distribution.
  6. Scoop cookie dough into 10 large irregular balls and place on the baking sheet, pressing extra chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 12-13 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are soft. Remove and let cool slightly.
  8. Sprinkle sea salt on top, cool for 5 minutes on the sheets, then transfer to a wire rack.
