  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger fresh, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice or cumin if unavailable
  • 2 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce for gluten-free option
  • 2 tablespoons sweet Thai chili sauce to taste
  • 2 stalks green onions chopped
For the Wrap
  • 4 pieces tortillas or rice paper for gluten-free
For the Crunch
  • 1 cup cucumber sliced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
  • 1/4 cup basil chopped
  • 1/4 cup peanuts or sunflower seeds for nut-free

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned and no longer pink.
  2. Once the beef is browned, add minced garlic, freshly grated ginger, and Chinese five spice to the skillet. Stir continuously for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the tamari and sweet Thai chili sauce, stirring well to coat. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  4. While the beef filling simmers, warm each tortilla in the microwave for approximately 15 seconds.
  5. On each warmed tortilla, place a scoop of the beef mixture in the center. Top with cucumber, cilantro, basil, and peanuts.
  6. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward and roll from the bottom up tightly to encase the filling.
  7. Arrange the finished rolls on a platter and serve warm with dipping sauces.
