  • ¼ cup Mirin or sugar and water substitute
  • 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup or honey
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds optional

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Marinade: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, maple syrup, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir until well-blended.
  2. Marinate Chicken: Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes and coat in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  3. Preheat Cooking Equipment: Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F), or prepare your grill over high heat, or preheat your oven’s broiler.
  4. Assemble Skewers: Thread marinated chicken cubes, pineapple chunks, and bell pepper pieces onto soaked skewers.
  5. Cook Skewers: Air fry for about 12 minutes, grill for 10-12 minutes, or broil for about 12 minutes, turning occasionally.
  6. Thicken Sauce: Pour leftover marinade into a saucepan, bring to a boil, and thicken with cornstarch slurry.
  7. Glaze and Serve: Brush thickened glaze over cooked skewers. Serve with rice or noodles and garnish with sesame seeds.
