Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Broccoli Rabe Tartines
  1. Roughly chop broccoli rabe into bite-sized pieces. Slice the garlic. Boil salted water, add broccoli rabe for 1 minute, then transfer to an ice bath to cool. Drain and pat dry.
  2. In a skillet, melt olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until garlic is golden.
  3. Add drained broccoli rabe to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, sauté for another 2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, then remove from heat.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice baguette into 1/4-inch thick pieces, arrange on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  5. Bake baguette slices for 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and set aside.
  6. Top toasted baguette slices with the sautéed broccoli rabe mixture. Shave Pecorino cheese on each tartine and garnish with chilies.
