Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the lasagna noodles according to package instructions—boil in salted water for 8-10 minutes until al dente, then drain and cool.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, onion, and garlic over medium heat until browned, then drain fat and add tomatoes, tomato paste, herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, blend ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan until creamy.
- Layer in a baking dish: meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mix, more sauce, and mozzarella; repeat, ending with noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and remaining Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake another 20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving, garnished with basil or parsley.
