Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown 1 pound of ground beef and 1 pound of Italian sausage for 8-10 minutes. Drain fat and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine 15 oz of ricotta cheese, 8 oz of cream cheese, 1 cup of sour cream, and 2 cups of shredded mozzarella. Stir until smooth. Add an egg if using.
  4. In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, half of the cheese mixture, and half of the meat. Repeat layers and finish with noodles and sauce on top.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
