- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into thin medallions, about 1/8 inch thick. Soak in cold water to prevent browning.
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Stir in brown sugar, water, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt to create a smooth sauce.
- Layer sweet potato medallions in a greased baking dish, slightly overlapping. Brush with ¾ of the warm sauce.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45-50 minutes or until tender.
- Remove foil, drizzle the remaining sauce on top, and sprinkle with pecans and marshmallows.
- Broil for 1-2 minutes until marshmallows are golden.
- Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
