  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add egg whites.
  4. Add vegetable oil and vanilla extract, then alternately mix in dry ingredients and buttermilk.
