Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add ½ pound of ground beef. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until evenly browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
- In the same skillet, stir in 1 cup of marinara sauce with the cooked ground beef. Allow to simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of ricotta cheese, ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese, and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning. Blend until smooth.
- Spread ½ tablespoon of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. Flip over 4 slices and layer with the ricotta mixture, followed by the beef and marinara mix, and top with shredded mozzarella.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the assembled sandwiches in the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Once golden brown and gooey, remove and cut each sandwich in half. Serve with extra marinara sauce on the side.
