  • 1 large Egg Binds the mixture, flax egg is a vegan alternative.
  • 1/2 cup Sun-Dried Tomatoes Offers a sweet and tangy punch.
  • 1/2 cup Feta Cheese Adds creaminess, consider goat cheese for a twist.
For the Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Enhances garlic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano Brings an earthy herb note.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil Can be swapped for fresh basil or thyme.
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt Essential for balancing flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper Adjust according to taste.
For Cooking
  • 1 tablespoon Avocado Oil Ideal for sautéing spinach.

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Parchment Paper

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add avocado oil. Once the oil shimmers, add fresh spinach and minced garlic. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until the spinach wilts and is bright green. Remove and let cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic powder, oregano, and dried basil. Add the cooled spinach mixture and mix well until integrated.
  3. Crack the egg into the turkey mixture and blend well. Fold in sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese until well incorporated.
  4. Form the mixture into 4 large patties. Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to help them firm up.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add more avocado oil. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove the burgers from heat and let them rest for 3–4 minutes before serving.
