Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine sugar with warm water and rapid rise yeast. Let sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together warmed almond milk, melted butter, eggs or vinegar, and vanilla extract. Incorporate the yeast mixture.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, artisan bread flour, remaining sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5 to 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and preserves. Cook over medium heat for about 5 to 6 minutes until thickened.
  7. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl until well combined.
  8. Punch down the dough, roll into a rectangle about 12 by 18 inches. Spread the butter mixture and strawberry sauce over the dough.
  9. Roll dough tightly from the longer side to create a log. Slice into 1.5-inch pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  10. Cover the sliced rolls with a towel and let rise for an additional 20 minutes at room temperature.
  11. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  12. Beat cream cheese in a bowl until smooth. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream, whisk until pourable.
  13. Drizzle the glaze over warm rolls after they cool slightly. Top with remaining strawberry sauce and optional crushed cookies.
