- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Gently clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems.
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6–8 minutes.
- Sauté diced onion and reserved mushroom stems in the same skillet for 4–5 minutes.
- Mix the sautéed onion and mushroom stems with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Stuff each mushroom cap with the creamy mixture, creating a nice mound.
- Drizzle melted butter or bacon drippings over each stuffed mushroom and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 20 minutes until tender and the topping is golden brown.
