  • 8 oz Cream Cheese At room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese Or substitute with mozzarella for a milder flavor.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Use to taste.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic can provide a stronger kick if preferred.
Topping
  • 2 tbsp Butter or Reserved Bacon Drippings Melting on top for added richness.
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs Panko breadcrumbs offer a lighter, crispier texture.

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Gently clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems.
  3. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6–8 minutes.
  4. Sauté diced onion and reserved mushroom stems in the same skillet for 4–5 minutes.
  5. Mix the sautéed onion and mushroom stems with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  6. Stuff each mushroom cap with the creamy mixture, creating a nice mound.
  7. Drizzle melted butter or bacon drippings over each stuffed mushroom and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes until tender and the topping is golden brown.
