Ingredients

For the Marinade
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos Use coconut aminos for gluten-free option.
  • 1/2 cup Beef Broth
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Fish Sauce Use for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Sliced.
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar Substitute
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
For the Main Dish
  • 1 pound Flank Steak Thinly sliced.
  • 4 cups Broccoli Fresh.
  • 1 tablespoon Arrowroot Powder Can substitute with xanthan gum.

Equipment

  • Instant Pot

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large measuring cup, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, water, fish sauce, garlic powder, green onions, sugar substitute, and ground ginger until fully combined.
  2. Place the thinly sliced flank steak into a resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes up to 4 hours.
  3. Preheat your Instant Pot and spray or oil the inner pot. Add the marinated flank steak along with all the marinade.
  4. Seal the Instant Pot lid and set to cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.
  5. Prepare a steamer basket or microwave-safe bowl with fresh broccoli florets and steam until crisp-tender, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Perform a quick release on the Instant Pot and remove the beef, keeping it warm.
  7. Cancel the cooking mode and select 'sauté'. Whisk together arrowroot powder with water to create a slurry, then stir into the boiling sauce to thicken.
  8. Return the cooked beef and steamed broccoli to the pot and toss gently in the sauce until well-coated and heated through.
