Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by slicing your apple thinly, ensuring even piece sizes for optimal flavor infusion.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the sliced apples with apple juice, brown sugar, water, vanilla extract, apple pie spice, and a cinnamon stick. Stir gently and allow to heat for about 5 minutes.
  3. Increase the heat slightly and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
  4. After simmering, carefully remove the saucepan from heat. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the syrup into a heatproof mason jar, leaving the apple slices and cinnamon stick behind.
  5. Once cooled, seal your mason jar and store the apple crisp syrup in the refrigerator.
  6. To create your refreshing latte, fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour in 2-3 tablespoons of the homemade apple crisp syrup, and top with chilled cold brew coffee.
