Step-By-Step Instructions
  1. Sauté the diced medium yellow onion in olive oil for 1-2 minutes until softened.
  2. Add lean ground beef (or ground turkey), seasoning with salt and pepper, and brown for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Mix in minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce across the bottom of the slow cooker.
  5. Layer with 3 uncooked lasagna noodles, 1/3 of meat mixture, 1 cup of marinara, and 2/3 cup of mozzarella.
  6. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with noodles and remaining marinara topped with mozzarella.
  7. Cover and cook on low for about 4 hours.
  8. Let lasagna rest for 20-30 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and parsley or basil before serving.
