Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the loaf pan by greasing it and dusting with flour.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream together the butter and granulated sugar in a stand mixer until light and pale.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter alternating with the milk, stirring until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, toss the chopped apple with the light brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  7. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, followed by half the apple mixture, and gently swirl.
  8. Add the remaining batter, cover with the rest of the apple mixture, and swirl lightly.
  9. Sprinkle the topping mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon over the batter.
  10. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool in pan for 15 to 20 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  12. Mix the glaze ingredients and drizzle over the cooled bread.
