Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the cake mix, cherry pie filling, eggs, egg yolk, and almond extract in a mixing bowl and blend until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the chocolate chunks.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
