For the Wrappers
  • 20 pieces Wonton Wrappers Look for gluten-free options if desired.

  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Olive oil can be used but changes flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Oil Optional; use regular vegetable oil as substitute.
  • 2 tablespoons Crispy Fried Garlic Optional but highly recommended.

Preparation
  1. Begin by pounding the coriander roots, black peppercorns, and garlic together using a mortar and pestle.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the Golden Mountain sauce, white sugar, sesame oil, and oyster sauce.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork with the prepared sauce mixture, egg, and cornstarch.
  4. Gently fold the crushed spice mixture and finely diced vegetables into the pork filling.
  5. Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface, scoop about a tablespoon of filling onto the center, moisten edges with water, fold, and seal.
  6. Line a steamer basket with parchment paper and place the dumplings inside. Steam for 10 minutes until wrappers turn translucent.
  7. Once steamed, remove and transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with crispy fried garlic and serve hot with dipping sauces.
