Prepare the Cake
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 8-inch pans with butter and parchment.
- Cream butter, oil, and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
- Sift together dry ingredients; gradually mix into wet mixture alternating with buttermilk.
- Fold in crushed Oreos until evenly distributed.
- Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Prepare the Frosting
- Beat butter until creamy; slowly add powdered sugar, milk, and espresso powder, mixing until smooth.
- Fold in remaining crushed Oreos.
- Once cakes are cool, frost the top of the first layer, add the second layer, and frost the entire cake.
Serve
- Slice and serve, preferably with milk or vanilla ice cream.
