Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare the pan by greasing a 9x9-inch pan with non-stick spray and lining with parchment paper.
- Melt 1 stick of unsalted butter over medium heat until golden brown and nutty, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Stir in a pinch of sea salt and 8 cups of mini marshmallows into the browned butter. Return to low heat and stir until marshmallows melt completely, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- In a large mixing bowl, add 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture and fold until well coated.
- Press half of the Rice Krispie mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spread a generous layer of dulce de leche over the first layer of Rice Krispies.
- Distribute the remaining Rice Krispie mixture on top of the dulce de leche layer, pressing down gently.
- Allow the treats to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until cool and firm.
