Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a stand mixer, beat the unsalted butter until smooth. Gradually add granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, sour cream, and milk until smooth.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Gradually add to the wet mixture, folding gently.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few for topping.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the surface. Sprinkle reserved chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
