  1. Prepare the Ingredients by cutting the beef chuck into 2-inch cubes and setting aside all measured ingredients.
  2. Cook the Bacon until crispy in a skillet over medium heat for about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Sear the Beef in the skillet using bacon grease, browning each side for 4–5 minutes.
  4. Add the Vegetables: layer chopped potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, and mushrooms over the beef in the crockpot.
  5. Mix the Sauce by whisking together dry red wine, beef broth, cornstarch, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce.
