Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Crock-Pot Apple Butter
  1. Prepare the apples by peeling and chopping approximately 6 pounds. Place them into your slow cooker evenly.
  2. Add 3 cups of white sugar, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt over the apples. Stir gently to coat.
  3. Cover and cook on HIGH for about 4 hours, removing the lid to check the consistency.
  4. Uncover and stir the apple mixture. Continue cooking on HIGH for another 8 to 10 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Blend the mixture using an immersion blender until smooth. Return it to the slow cooker to finish.
  6. For a thicker consistency, leave uncovered on LOW, stirring every 30 minutes to 2 hours until desired thickness is achieved.
  7. Jar the apple butter using sterile canning jars. Fill while warm and seal properly.
