Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Homemade Dauphinoise Potatoes
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Slice the Yukon Gold potatoes to approximately 3mm (1/8 inch) thick.
- In a saucepan, combine double cream, full-fat milk, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and fresh thyme. Heat until simmering.
- Add the sliced potatoes to the cream mixture and cook for about 4 minutes.
- Layer the potato slices in an ovenproof baking dish and pour the creamy mixture over them.
- Top with freshly grated vegetarian cheddar cheese.
- Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes, turning halfway.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
