Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and chopped onion for 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Incorporate tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Stir in dried herbs, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 25-30 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese, beaten egg, grated Parmesan, and parsley until smooth.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in a greased baking dish.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  7. Allow the lasagna to rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
