  • 1 tablespoon Taco Seasoning homemade seasoning can be used.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fresh Ground Black Pepper adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch omit if a thinner consistency is acceptable.
  • 1/4 cup Beef Broth or use vegetable broth.
  • 1 cup Mexican Blend Shredded Cheese or substitute cheddar or Monterey Jack.
For Serving
  • 6 whole Brioche Hamburger Buns or swap with gluten-free buns.
  • Diced Tomatoes for topping.
  • Sour Cream for topping, Greek yogurt can be a healthier option.
  • Chopped Cilantro or Parsley for garnish.

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1 diced red onion and 10 minced garlic cloves. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent and fragrant.
  2. Add 1 pound of lean ground beef to the skillet, breaking it into small pieces. Cook for 8-10 minutes until browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in 3 diced jalapeños, 15 ounces of tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well and let meld together for 2 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and pour in 1/4 cup of beef broth, stirring continuously until thickened. Cook for another 3-5 minutes.
  5. Turn off the heat and gently fold in 1 cup of Mexican blend shredded cheese until melted.
  6. Spoon the cheesy filling onto 6 brioche hamburger buns. Top with diced tomatoes, sour cream, and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges.
