Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 sliced yellow onion with a pinch of kosher salt, cooking them gently for about 10 minutes until softened. Stir in 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, continuing to cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until the onions are a deep golden brown. If they start to burn, add a splash of water to keep a jam-like consistency.
  2. Once the caramelized onions have cooled, transfer them to a mixing bowl. Combine them with 1/2 cup of mayonnaise, 1/4 cup of plain Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until smooth and creamy, adjusting the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Form 1 pound of ground beef into burger patties, making sure to season each side with kosher salt and black pepper. Heat the skillet used for the onions over medium-high heat, and add the patties. Sear them for 2-3 minutes on each side, cooking until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. To build your Burger Bowls, start with a generous base of chopped romaine lettuce in each bowl. Top the lettuce with the cooked burger patty, followed by sliced tomatoes and crispy French fries. Drizzle a generous amount of the sweet caramelized onion aioli over the top.
  5. Now that your bowls are assembled, consider adding any extra toppings you love, such as pickles or additional veggies. Encourage everyone to customize their bowls.
