- Begin by washing 1 lb. of fresh blueberries under cold water, ensuring they're thoroughly clean. Transfer them into a medium-sized bowl and gently mash the blueberries until they begin releasing their juices.
- Sprinkle ½ cup of sugar over the mashed blueberries and mix well. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to chill.
- When ready to assemble, take a mini shortcake and place it on a serving plate. Spoon a layer of the chilled blueberry mixture over it and top with whipped topping.
- Repeat the layering process with another shortcake, blueberry mixture, and whipped topping.
- Serve immediately to preserve the texture.
