  • 1/8 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Regular paprika works for milder flavor.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Grate the shallot until you have approximately a tablespoon of finely grated shallot.
  2. Grate the ripe tomato using the larger side of the box grater, discarding the skin.
  3. Combine grated shallot and tomato in a mixing bowl along with sea salt, Aleppo pepper, dried oregano, smoked paprika, red wine vinegar, and olive oil.
  4. Stir in chopped Italian parsley and mix until well blended.
  5. Let the dressing rest at room temperature for 15 minutes to meld the flavors.
  6. Taste the dressing and adjust seasonings as desired, adding a pinch of sugar if too tangy.
